Another learning tool that some find helpful is a concept map. A concept map is a diagram that shows relationships among concepts. Concept maps can be very simple such as the example I have posted here or they can be very complex. When learning pharmacology you can start with a particular medication or a medication class, antiemetics for example. From that one word you will draw lines to connect to the various things you have learned or want to remember about antiemetics. I have included a link to get you started with concept mapping. ReplyDeleteI like your idea of using a concept map for drug categories. I think this a helpful way for students to make relationships with types of medications. Pharm was a difficult course for me and this activity would have helped me remembering and learning classifications of medications.
